Both of them came through battling victories en route to this match. But it has now been reported that the defending US Open finalist may have some complications just before the match. He has suffered a big blow, putting his chances at risk.

Alexander Zverev faces injury threat before US Open Round-4

Preparing for his match, Zverev was out practicing during the day. He was hitting balls fluently, and was all set to take center stage. However, it has been reported that the German has suffered an injury scare ahead of his clash vs Sinner. As reported by Nick McCarvel, the 24-year-old stopped practice mid-way to call his physio out.

As he sat on the sidelines, his physio stretched out his left side and was massaging his back. Zverev was evidently in discomfort, and this may come into play against the Italian. There is no further injury update at the moment, but it will be crucial to see if the strain takes a toll on the German tonight. With less than few hours to go, he will be hoping that it is nothing too serious.
