The Australian Open 2021 is just inches away and fans are watching some great tennis even before that at the ATP Cup 2021. The semis of the tournament will begin soon, but before that, an exciting clash is on the way. World No. 1 Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev will be up against each other tomorrow.

Novak Djokovic’s Serbia and Alexander Zverev’s Germany are there in Group A of the ATP Cup 2021. Both the players will face off tomorrow and will look to win and seal the semis’ ticket for their teams. In a recent interview, World No. 7 Zverev revealed what he would do in order to beat the Serbian legend.

“I think generally when you play Novak, you have to step up your game,” said Zverev in the interview.

The German player believes that it will be important for him to step up his game in the match against Djokovic. He certainly has to take his game to a new level in order to defeat the 17-time Grand Slam champion.

In the same interview, Zverev highlighted that it was necessary to step up one’s game while facing any of the ‘Big Three’. He mentioned that he would have said the same thing had he been facing Rafael Nadal or Roger Federer“Same way when you play Roger or Rafa,” added the US Open 2020 runner up.

Novak Djokovic v Alexander Zverev: Head-to-Head

The two players have faced each other on a total of six occasions. Djokovic leads the battle with 4-2 after he won the last three encounters between them. However, fans remember how Zverev thrashed the World No. 1 player in straight sets in the finals of the ATP Finals 2018.

On the hard courts too, Djokovic enjoys an edge over Zverev as the Serbian legend has won three out of the four clashes there. They last met at the ATP Finals 2020, where Djokovic managed to steamroll  Zverev.

The two have not faced each other at the ATP Cup before this. It’ll be their first meet at the tournament, and fans will hope that it’ll turn out to be an exhilarating one. Will Djokovic carry his team to yet another ATP Cup semi-final, or will Zverev give a shock to the World No. 1 player this time?
