German tennis star, Alexander Zverev, is going through all the emotions right now. While he is finding joy on the court, the 26-year-old has grave concerns to deal with off the court. He started the 2024 season with a bang, helping his country win the United Cup. It was an ideal preparation for him ahead of the Australian Open as he won his opening round match. However, shortly after his victory, a controversy erupted after questions popped up about his domestic violence trial.

In November last year, Zverev was given a penalty order and fined after he was accused of physically abusing his ex-girlfriend. Although the player denied the charges, he faces a trial in this case. And things got heated when he was asked about this matter.

A journalist asked him if it was appropriate for him to continue on the ATP Players Council while the trial was underway. For the record, Zverev was elected as a representative of that body recently. Replying to this question, Zverev said, “Why would it not be?”

Further, the journalist mentioned that there were some people around who didn’t want him to be playing, let alone the leadership position. Zverev replied furiously, “Like who? Journalists are saying that, some, who are actually interested more in this story to write about and more about the clicks than the actual truth.”
