World No.4 Alexander Zverev bagged his fourth title in 2021 when he lifted the Vienna Open 2021 trophy. The German player steamrolled over America’s Frances Tiafoe to emerge as the champion of the ATP tournament. The final scoreline of the match was 7-5, 6-4.

Alexander Zverev, the favorite for the encounter, delivered a dominant performance in Vienna. He gave absolutely no chance to Tiafoe and delivered a total of 19 aces during the entire match.

Alexander Zverev registers his name in an unfortunate list of players after Vienna Open 2021

The Vienna Open 2021 title is the 18th ATP title that Zverev has won in his career so far. However, with the triumph, he entered a list of players that he doesn’t really want to be a part of.

Zverev is yet to win a Grand Slam title. Thus, he is now a member of the list of players who have won the most number of ATP titles without achieving a major. Interestingly, the German is tied for the 13th spot on the list with Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Marcelo Rios- who have also attained 18 titles without winning a single Slam.

With the upcoming Paris Masters, Zverev will be hoping to move one notch higher in the list before leaving it altogether as soon as possible. Even his arch-rivals, Dominic Thiem and Daniil Medvedev, have won one Grand Slam title each – the US Open 2020 and 2021.

The German’s best performance at a Grand Slam came at the US Open 2020 where he finished as the runner-up, losing to Thiem in the finals. It was an extremely tight contest which went right to the wire, and Thiem emerged victorious after the 5th set tie-breaker.
