A few seasons back, the Japanese tennis star, Kei Nishikori, stunned the entire tennis realm by outclassing Roger Federer in the Nitto ATP Finals. Apart from this, the 33-year-old player previously bagged two more victories against the Swiss tennis legend during their meetings in the ATP Masters 1000 events.
Federer isn’t the only one from the ‘Big 3’ in the men’s circuit, who has fallen prey to Nishikori. Even the Spanish tennis legend, Rafael Nadal, has had two defeats against the Japanese star, including their bronze medal matchup at the 2016 Olympic Games. And it is very much the same case for the Serb Novak Djokovic, who has also been outshined by Nishikori twice, most notably at the 2014 US Open semifinal.
Apart from these tennis greats, the 33-year-old player also has a few victories in his bag, which came against another legendary figure in the men’s circuit.

Andy Murray, who has often been a part of the ‘Big 4’ in the men’s circuit, has also faced some defeats in his previous meetings against Nishikori. In the 2016 US Open quarterfinal, it was the Japanese who prevailed in their five-set thriller clash in New York. Apart from this, he also outperformed the 36-year-old tennis legend, in the ATP Finals in Great Britain.
