Novak Djokovic, despite securing a hard-fought victory against Tallon Griekspoor with a score of 4-6, 7-6, 6-4 at the Paris Masters, said that his performance didn’t meet his usual standards. In the post-match interview, Djokovic emphasized that he didn’t want to diminish Griekspoor’s exceptional play. Djokovic admitted to struggling with stomach issues in the preceding days, which significantly impacted his game.

However, as the match progressed, Djokovic started to regain his form in the third set. He reflected, “I don’t want to take anything away from Greikspoor’s performance. Maybe in the third set, for a few games, he did a bit but he was playing at a very high level and credit to him for that kind of performance.”
The World No.1 continued, “I have been struggling the last couple of days with my stomach, and I just didn’t feel myself at all on the court and was just trying to hold my serve and get to the tiebreak which happened in the second. I got lucky on a couple of shots there it could have easily gone his way but overall I played a good time break and then I started to feel better in the third. I am really really glad to overcome this challenge.”
