Just when you think that Novak Djokovic is done breaking all the records, a new stat would resurface where the Serb would top the charts. The 23-time major champion finds himself on a spree at the moment and no force can stop him. All the big records are in his favor, making it impossible to argue against his greatness. While Djokovic holds the slam record, there is another metric where he recently surpassed Roger Federer.

Djokovic overtook Federer in this year’s Roland Garros, where he also broke his archrival Rafael Nadal’s record.

The world number 1 was faultless when it came to playing tiebreaks at the Roland Garros. He won all six of them without hitting a single unforced error and notching 17 winners at the same time. Across the six breakers, the Serb only lost 13 points and won 42.

His rival, Federer, was always considered to be one of the finest tiebreak players because of his big serve and forehand. However, after bagging the opening set against Casper Ruud in the final, Djokovic leapfrogs over the Swiss Maestro.

The last of the six tiebreak wins saw Djokovic top the charts for the best tiebreak winning ratio. In a list dominated by some of the biggest servers in the game, Djokovic with a relatively mild serve stays on top. He has now won 308 of the 470 breakers he has contested with a 0.655 winning ratio. Roger Federer occupies the second spot, having won 466 of his 713 breakers with a 0.654 winning ratio.

But how do the two greats of the sport fare against each other when it came to tiebreaks? Let’s take a look.
