A recent sign of growth was the community receiving a huge sum of money as a grant for the construction of a complex for pickleball in Las Vegas, Andre Agassi’s hometown.

As per Fox 5 Vegas, a grant of a whopping $12,009,000 was allotted for the development of pickleball courts. The Regional Pickleball Complex in the Wayne Bunker Park will start construction soon. The Las Vegas city council announced the news yesterday and has planned on building over 30 pickleball courts in the city. This comes as a huge move as the picklers have been fighting for more courts in the entire country.
The news was also shared by the City of Las Vegas’ official Twitter account. The announcement also comes as a boon for Andre Agassi. The Las Vegas native will see his current racket sport increasing in popularity in his home city no less. The courts will be designed with the help of the community. It will serve as another scaffold for the sports’ popularity.

Andre Agassi and Andy Roddick won the slam
April 2nd saw the tennis legends picking up the paddle for another competitive match. Michael Chang and John McEnroe faced off against Andre Agassi and Andy Roddick. The winner received a sum of $1 million. Agassi and Roddick triumphed over Chang and McEnroe with a score of 3-1. McEnroe defeated Agassi, Roddick defeated Chang. The doubles match was worth two points and Agassi and Roddick won the match with the prize money.

Fans also went wild as Steffi Graf made a special appearance. She even played the sport against Agassi and Roddick for a few rallies, and McEnroe and Chang recuperated.
