Rafael Nadal, after being out for a couple of months after his injury in Australia made his return to the professional circuit. The Spanish legend featured in an exhibition match where he faced fellow Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in a legend vs prodigy match. While the match was a pure joy to watch, Andre Agassi made sure to double the fun as he took up the role of a commentator.

But, his role was nothing short of sensational. The American legend was head-to-toe over Nadal’s game and analyzed the game much better than anyone could have imagined. This made many believe that he could have joined his coaching team.

Could Andre Agassi be coaching Rafael Nadal anytime soon?

In the recent Netflix Slam match, Andre Agassi’s commentary on Rafael Nadal’s game turned heads. With such clarity and the simplest of breakdowns, he exactly pointed out the 22-time grand slam winner’s movement while highlighting the flaws. This made many believe that Agassi should come back again into the coaching role, this time as the coach of Nadal.

Interestingly, Agassi has also coached his rival Novak Djokovic so he pretty much knows how to handle some of the top talents in the world. Agassi’s insightful analysis highlighted a unique understanding of Nadal’s playstyle, setting him apart from previous commentators focused on Roger Federer and Djokovic.

Thus, Rafael Nadal, who featured in the Netflix Slam against Carlos Alcaraz got a clear insight into his gameplay from one of the greats of the game. While a coaching job may be off the books for him at the moment, his insights clearly show the knowledge that he possesses.

However, a union in the coaching role might not be possible for the two. It is almost certain that this could be the final year of Rafael Nadal on the professional circuit. However, the Spaniard has not shown any signs yet and suggests that nothing can be confirmed at the moment.

Nadal does not confirm his retirement rumors

Rafael Nadal, in an interview with Marca, did not reveal his retirement date as such. He clearly stated that he is not going to say goodbye because it would mean the end of the road for him. He further added that he is not 100% sure about it and his life would eventually show him the path.

“I’m not saying goodbye because then I’d say I’m not playing anymore. This is an important point, and I don’t want to say it because I’m not 100% clear about it. In the last two years, I haven’t been able to play. Life is showing you the path,” said Nadal.

Thu, with nothing certain at the moment, he would be looking to enjoy every bit of the game that he can. Having rocked the tennis world for over 20 years, the Spaniard, who is probably in his last year as a player would just want to enjoy and retire on a good note.
