In an exclusive sit down with Laver Cup 2023 social media team, Shelton revealed his enthusiasm, saying, “To learn from two legends like McEnroe brothers and be a part of Team World is something that everyone aspires to be a part of. So, to be able to get the call-up, to be able to compete for the team this year, I’m really excited.”

The 2023 Laver Cup is gearing up for its sixth edition, and it’s all set to unfold in Vancouver, Canada. Team World, the current titleholders, are determined to defend their championship after their impressive victory last year with a score of 13-8. What adds an extra layer of excitement this time around is the significant shake-up in the teams. Captains Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe have put together fresh line-ups, aiming to secure the prestigious Laver Cup once again.

Notably, the ‘Big Four’ of tennis, including Roger Federer, won’t be participating in the Laver Cup for the first time since its start. Team Europe, led by Casper Ruud, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Andrey Rublev, is determined to regain the trophy. Alejandro Davidovich Fokina has joined the European team to replace the injured Holger Rune, providing more depth to the roster, which also includes Hubert Hurkacz, Gael Monfils, and Arthur Fils as an alternate. Young sensation Carlos Alcaraz won’t be part of Team Europe this time.
