Even after that miraculous victory, Nadal seemed worried about his injury ahead of the semi-final match against the Australian player Nick Kyrgios. Now, according to the latest news, things are not looking good for the Spaniard, as the test results have come out.

Rafael Nadal has a 7 mm abdominal muscle tear

Recent reports suggest that Rafael Nadal suffered a 7mm tear on his abdominal muscles. Today, he had a scheduled practice session at 12:30 pm local time, which he missed, as he was possibly waiting for the test results. The results, however, are not looking good for the Spaniard, as he is getting ready for his semi-final match tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Marca reported that Nadal will try to play despite the muscle tear on his abdomen. At the same time, he did not turn up to court 10 for his practice session. According to reports, he switched to the Aorangi courts, where he was practicing with his family and coach.

Also, ESPN was showing the live coverage of his practice sessions.

According to the latest news, Nadal’s practice session lasted only 44 minutes, with an 11-minute break in between.

Notably, this was not the first time Nadal had an abdominal tear before an important match. Before the 2009 US Open semi-final match against Juan Martin del Potro, he suffered a 2 cm abdominal tear. Despite that, he competed in that match, but could not win it in the end.
