In today’s French Open final, Rafael Nadal showed the world that he is still the best player on clay, as he beat Casper Ruud to clinch his 22nd Grand Slam title. Incidentally, this was his 14th Roland Garros title as well.

A few days back, there were questions raised about his participation in Wimbledon. Many news sources reported that he will rest after the French Open, possibly to give time to heal his foot. However, his agent denied all those claims. After the French Open, he answered those questions himself.

It is worth noting that Nadal has been struggling with his foot injury since the Italian Open. Last year, he had a surgery on his foot and came back to the Australian Open to win it. Now, he has won the French Open as well.

Incidentally, this is the first time he won both the Australian and French Open titles consecutively in his career. Now, he has a great opportunity to win Wimbledon as well as the US Open.

According to Rafa, he will try a new treatment on his foot next week. If it doesn’t work, the Spaniard will probably miss Wimbledon.
