“Hi, I’m Andre Agassi and I’m famous for one thing. Being a pickleball legend,” illustrated Andre Agassi in the upcoming new film “The Electric State.” And that statement couldn’t be more accurate! Agassi just secured his third straight Pickleball Slam title, once again teaming up with his wife, Steffi Graf. Their challengers? Andy Roddick and Eugenie Bouchard. But in the end, Team Andre dominated once again, claiming the $1 million prize! And, right after the match, Roddick had something familiar to say about Agassi’s growing pickleball legacy, just as he did in the documentary.
It wasn’t the day Roddick had hoped for, on the 16th! The action kicked off with a single showdown at the pickleball slam 3, where Roddick and Agassi clashed, and the former 8-time Grand Slam champion dominated, securing a straight-sets victory over the former US champ. Later, in the highly anticipated mixed doubles final match, Roddick teamed up with Bouchard to take on the legendary power couple: Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi.
Team Agassi struck first, claiming the opening set 15-9, but Bouchard and Roddick fought back, leveling the match with a hard-fought 15-10 win in the second set. With everything on the line, the final set headed to a tense tiebreaker, where Agassi and Graf once again proved unstoppable, sealing the victory in style. However, despite the tough loss, Roddick remained gracious in defeat, offering nothing but praise for the former world No. 1.

Just a couple of hours ago, while en route home from Las Vegas, Roddick recorded a new episode of “Served with Andy Roddick”, right from the Vegas airport! And the former US champion showered praise on Agassi, saying, “Guys, it’s not going well. It’s not going well. Anyone watching on YouTube realizes so right now I’m on my way back from Vegas where I got my a– handed to me in pickleball by Andre who is apparently a f—— pickle wizard now. It was all bad. My pride is firmly in Andre’s pocket right now.” Well, why did Roddick call Agassi a pickle wizard?
Agassi has officially mastered the art of pickleball’s biggest stage. The 8-time Grand Slam champion is now a three-time Pickleball Slam champion as well! However, it all started in 2023 when he teamed up with Andy Roddick to clinch the first title. The following year, he and his wife, Steffi Graf, dominated once again, defeating John McEnroe and icon Maria Sharapova in a thrilling mixed doubles final, 11-7, 13-11. And now, with yet another win under his belt, Agassi continues to prove he’s the king of the court, in a different sport!
As for Roddick, this was not the first time he had a banter with Agassi. They get indulged in banter quite often.

“As soon as Andre dumped me from the winning team” — Roddick shared a friendly banter about Agassi
Both Agassi and Roddick have become familiar faces at the Pickleball Slam over the recent years. Agassi, a three-time participant, has dominated the event, while Roddick has now played twice, first teaming up with Agassi when he faced the dynamic duo of John McEnroe and Michael Chang in 2023 in the inaugural tournament and now pairing with Bouchard. However, when Agassi “dumped” Roddick for the second Slam to play with his beloved Graf, the former US Open champion didn’t hesitate to fire back with some playful banter toward his compatriot.
“This day was always coming, as soon as Andre dumped me from the winning team. Like, who wins and then gets dumped? I guess me, even worse when it’s by your idol. So, I’m coming for him! There’s no escape now! Andre’s stamina obviously isn’t what it once was. I think he legally collects social security now,” Roddick said, humorously sharing his feelings about being dropped as Agassi’s partner.

Ahead of their match-up in the third slam, Roddick was wary of Agassi’s incredible pickleball skills. “I worry the most about myself on the court. Like, I’ve literally played with a pro. We have to win; otherwise…it’s on me. It’s very squarely on my shoulders. Genie, I hope I live up to the very tiny expectations you have for my pickleball ability,” he stated before the Slam 3 at the Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas.
