The 21-year-old American talent, Ben Shelton, is the talk of the town at the moment. He has been in red-hot form of late and also under the limelight ever since the world number one Novak Djokovic cut off his ‘dialed in’ run in the semis of the US Open. His celebrations are as famous as his wins, if not more. But now, he is making the headlines yet again for his celebration – or rather, the lack of it.
The angry young man on the court has always made the headlines with his aggressive play and powerful groundstrokes. But this time in Japan, he looked quite different. Without his resilience and his father’s continuous support on and off the field, this would’ve been difficult. So, after he finished the match, he went straight towards Bryan Shelton and hugged him. The taste of the first trophy must be amazing for the Sheltons.
The roller-coaster ride for young Shelton
The 21-year-old has shown no sign of stopping since his sensational performance at the US Open. His impressive display against the 30-year-old Russian is one such example.
