2024 is not going to be as planned for Nick Kyrgios as this Australian tennis star is not on the list of players attending the Australian Open 2024. Kyrgios suffered from a double injury blow this season and lost the only tournament match he could play. Now it looks like the beginning of 2024 will not be very fruitful for this Aussie tennis player.

Nick Kyrgios had a rough 2023. Not only did he suffer from severe mental health issues, he was termed as ‘hot-headed’ by the critics on the court. However, Kyrgios revealed to the fans about getting out from those dark days. Nevertheless, the home Grand Slam court will not be graced by Nick Kyrgios in the coming season.

While the fans were willing to see this Australian tennis player coming back to the court with his fierce attitude, Nick Kyrgios will not play the Australian Open 2024. Recently, a tennis journalist revealed that Kyrgios’s name is not on the entry list of 2024’s tournament. However, this person also added that Kyrgios could later attend the tournament as a wild card. However, that calls for a prospect. For now, this Australian tennis star will not fight for his home Grand Slam.

previously Australian tennis boss Craig Tiley revealed that Nick Kyrgios’s injury might not let him play tournaments for two years consecutively. Tiley also said- “we’re going to have Nick here in some form or another in January. Hopefully, it is to play because he’s a crowd-pleaser. We love watching Nick and love having him around.” While this is truly saddening for his professional career, Kyrgios needs to ensure his physical fitness before he appears on the court.

Kyrgios’s injury truly impacted his career as the Australian tennis player dropped out of the rankings of ATP after his injury. However, Alexander Zverev became a true inspiration for him.

Nick Kyrgios took inspiration from Alexander Zverev during the dark times

Zverev also suffered a massive ankle injury during the 2022 French Open. However, that didn’t stop him from snatching victories at the tournament. Zverev won two titles in 2023 with a great performance consistency. Zverev’s perseverance inspired Kyrgios as he wanted to make a fierce comeback in 2024.

While Kyrgios fans might not see the tennis star in the upcoming Australian Open, he will surely come back on the court. Not to mention, plenty of tournaments are there for Nick Kyrgios in the upcoming season. That is why he shouldn’t take chances with his physical fitness.
