Rafael Nadal revealed why he doesn’t like to fly on a private jet

A plethora of tennis fans were surprised when the Spanish tennis player revealed he doesn’t like to fly on a private jet. In his book, ‘Rafa: My Story,’ the French Open champion talked about his triumph in the Monte Carlo Cup in 2008. Rafael Nadal went to talk about his victory over the Swiss Maestro, Roger Federer. However, after his victory, the former world No. 1 immediately felt a strong urge to get back home as soon as possible.

Despite his liking for the place, Nadal revealed that he didn’t want to spend another night in Monte Carlo. As a result, he had to catch a budget flight to Barcelona and from there connect to Palma. Nadal revealed the reason in his book by stating, “The truth is, I don’t like it. I could push one of my sponsors to fly me around, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable doing that. It’s a bit too flashy for me, and besides, I don’t like abusing my relationship with them.”

Nadal recently ended with one of his worst losing streaks

After his Grand Slam victory at the French Open, the Spaniard has been struggling with his injuries. As a result, his form at other tournaments was massively affected. Notably, the former world No. 1 recently made a poor start to the Nitto ATP Finals. Nadal, with his poor run, was defeated in group stage matches of the tournament in Turin.
