Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios is among the most controversial players. Be it his on-field antics or his statements, the Aussie always makes headlines. However, the 27-year-old has done pretty well recently on-court. He made it to the finals of the Wimbledon Championships earlier this year followed by a quarterfinal run in the US Open 2022.

While the Aussie seems to have a relatively calmer personality now, he was at his vocal best in 2020. The 27-year-old was critical of Serbian tennis great Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev for not following covid-19 restrictions. However, this didn’t go down well with tennis legend Boris Becker. They engaged in a war of words later on.
Nick Kyrgios calls Boris Becker a ‘Doughnut’
The fiery Australian tennis was pretty disappointed by the way Djokovic and Zverev acted amidst the covid-19 restrictions. He called them out for putting their own as well as other’s life at risk by doing it. Boris Becker didn’t like the Aussie’s attack on his fellow ATP colleagues and took to his Twitter account to call out Kyrgios.

After the response from Kyrgios, Becker replied again, reminding the Aussie about his zero Grand Slam titles. Kyrgios also was in no mood to leave the ground and hit back at Becker.

The former German tennis star recently got in trouble and was charged under the Insolvency Act. Currently, he is serving two and half year jail term and will be deported to his home country later.

Nick Kyrgios has been a volatile character throughout his career. Every year the 27-year-old is engaged in some or other controversy. This year it was his feud with the Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas. The 24-year-old has played twice against Kyrgios this year. Interestingly, he won the opening set in both matches but went down eventually to the Aussie.
After losing to the 27-year-old in Wimbledon, the Greek was not happy with his behavior. Further calling him a bully. Even after a long time to that match now, Tsitsipas still seems to have bad memories of the incident. The 24-year-old recently requested Kyrgios for a rematch. In order to have a chance for revenge. Interestingly, Kyrgios has also accepted the challenge.
