Back then, the controversial tennis player made some disgusting remarks about his Swiss opponent Stan Wawrinka‘s then-girlfriend, Donna Vekic. Kyrgios’s bogging comments also led to a locker-room blowup between the ATP superstars in Montreal. Due to such explosive tennis scandals, the Aussie has been given the tag of the ‘bad boy’ of tennis. Emphasizing the same, the former Wimbledon finalist recently opened up about how he sometimes switches to a ‘bad guy’ mode.

Nick Kyrgios undoubtedly possesses remarkable on-court prowess; however, his short temper has often landed him in hot water. In the latest episode of the ‘Pivot’ Podcast, the Aussie sat down for a layered conversation about his controversial tennis life and outbursts on the court.

The ATP superstar, who has been sighted smashing his rackets in frustration, opened up about how emotions have always been on his sleeves since his younger days. Kyrgios said, “Even when I was young. I wore my emotions on my sleeve. You know, I wouldn’t say, trash talk that much. But you know, sometimes I did.”

During the candid conversation, the Aussie also talked about his controversial remarks about other player’s girlfriends. Nick Kyrgios added, “I’ve spoke about other players girlfriends on the court before which has gone pretty viral. And then in tennis world trash talk is not normal. Like in every other sport it is, but in tennis it’s like, if you say anything, it’s like you’re a bad guy.”

The former Wimbledon finalist went on to say that the idea of trash-talking has gotten him the tag of ‘bad guy’ as he sometimes switches to this mode. Kyrgios said, “So yeah, I do turn that switch on. I know when I’m about to walk out on court, I turn into someone different.”
