World No.1 Novak Djokovic is chasing history at the US Open 2021. And on his way to the semifinals, he steered past the Italian, Matteo Berrettini in the quarterfinals clash. He has now set up a major challenge against Alexander Zverev for a place in the final.

Additionally, Djokovic has had a much challenging American Slam campaign than in previous years. Despite that, he maintained his unbreakable winning streak in major tournaments, even in New York.

After losing the opening set, the 20-time Grand Slam champion showed Berrettini what he is all about. Incredibly, Djokovic closed the match 5-7, 6-2, 6-2, 6-3 in three hours and 28 minutes.

For those who have been under a rock for the past year, you’ve missed a lot of Djokovic. Notably, he is now only a couple of wins away from the 2021 Calendar Grand Slam.

Interestingly, Djokovic’s conqueror at the Tokyo Olympics, Alexander Zverev, is already sitting in the semifinals. Thus, the already uphill battle is only going to get steeper for the Serb in New York.
