The 21-time Grand Slam winner has added a slew of other titles to his total tally over the past decade as he has consistently dominated the tour. However, Djokovic’s 2022 campaign has been a mixed bag. Despite his inability to repeat last year’s heroics, in which he came close to winning a Calendar Year Grand Slam, he still triumphed at Wimbledon and the Rome Masters. Recently, he attended his brother Djordje?s wedding.

Djordje is Novak Djokovic’s younger brother and a former tennis player who is now the director of the Serbia Open in Belgrade. His wedding took place at St. Mark’s Church in Belgrade on the 14th of September. Novak Djokovic and his wife Jelena were the obvious attendees during the wedding.?

Recently, ESPN Tenis on their official Instagram page shared a post of Djokovic clicking a picture on the occasion of his brother?s wedding stating “The cause of his slump on the #Djokovic #CopaDavis: celebrated his brother Djordje’s wedding.“

The post meant that this was one of the main reasons why Novak Djokovic couldn?t be a part of the Davis Cup. Djokovic is currently experiencing some time away from sports. The 35-year-old was unable to compete this summer on North American hardcourts because of his stance on the COVID-19 vaccination.

Though he got his 2022 campaign off to a late start in Dubai, the Serb eventually claimed his first title of the year in Rome, making it his sixth career victory in the city.

Novak Djokovic will join fellow members of Team Europe including Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Andy Murray for the upcoming Laver Cup 2022 competition.
Team Europe will compete for a fifth consecutive title at the O2 in London, with a team that also includes Casper Ruud, a finalist at both Roland Garros and the US Open, and Stefanos Tsitsipas.
