In a gritty display of tennis, the Spanish sensation claimed his maiden Grand Slam title, defeating Ruud in a battle lasting three hours and 20 minutes in Arthur Ashe Stadium. After his victory in the US Open summit clash, Alcaraz followed in the footsteps of his idol, Rafael Nadal.

During his nascent yet illustrious career, Alcaraz has often been compared with his compatriot, Rafael Nadal. Alcaraz, who idolizes Nadal, has gone on to achieve similar success as the 22-time Grand Slam champion had achieved at the same age.

Carlos Alcaraz plays golf

The 19-year-old took time off following his memorable US Open victory. He was seen playing golf and enjoying his time. The PGA Tour, on their official Twitter handle, shared the video along with the caption, saying, The swing of a @USOpen champion. @CarlosAlcaraz can do it all.”

On many occasions, the Spanish great Nadal has also been spotted playing golf. Earlier this year, he revealed his love for this sport and how it helped him keep fit. Nadal said, “I play some golf. That’s the truth. I never have been a gym guy.”

Further, with his US Open title victory, Alcaraz jumped three positions to become the new World Number 1 in men’s singles. Moreover, he achieved this feat at the age of just 19. Following Alcaraz is the US Open finalist, Casper Ruud, who jumped five spots to become the World Number 2.

Where will Alcaraz play next?

After his triumphant US Open campaign, the Spanish sensation will participate in the Davis Cup Finals. It comes as a huge boost for Spain, who were already missing the services of Rafael Nadal.
