Track and Field athlete Noah Lyles bagged three gold medals at the world championships in Hungary. While this is a proud moment for the US, Lyles pulled an unexpected cat out of the bag, creating a storm in the sports world. After winning the gold medals, the 26-year-old was asked how Track and Field can attain more reach.
His appalling response became the talk of the sports. Frances Tiafoe, who won his 1st round in the US Open, reacted to Lyle’s comments that demeaned the NBA players. As Tiafoe is a hardcore NBA fan, naturally, he aligned his likes with NBA star Kevin Durant. Big Foe proved his love and loyalty towards the NBA and Durant with his recent comments.

Lyles lamented that NBA stars carrying the ‘World Champion’ tag hurt him as the sport is limited to the US. The Track and Field athlete compared his sport with the NBA, as he said that NBA players represent only the US and not the world. Track and Field, on the other side, has athletes from different parts of the world. So Lyles felt NBA players do not deserve to be hailed as the world champions.
Durant took to his Instagram to softly slam Lyles, stating that the latter needed help. The ATP champion, too, reacted similarly in his post-match press conference. When the reporter asked the 10th seed what Tiafoe had to say about Lyle’s and KD’s comments.
Addressing Lyle’s statements, the three singles titles winner exclaimed, “Jesus Christ. He had, like, I get what he was saying but I don’t get what he was saying.”
Tiafoe elaborated, “What he said made sense but what he said also did not make sense. You know what I’m saying? Because it’s the best league in the world, NBA. You can argue the three, four best players in the NBA are not American at the moment.”
The Stuttgart Open winner understood the claims of both Lyles and KD. But Tiafoe did not hesitate to support his admirer, KD.
The hooper and the ATP champion are inseparable
Tiafoe declared that the NBA has the best foreign players, though it is played in the States, and that he stands with all the hoopers. Durant has also supported Tiafoe previously when the NBA star cheered for him as he attended the match between Aslan Karatsev and Tiafoe. KD felt proud of Tiafoe as the ATP champion perfectly represents the country.
