Alexander Zverev registered his first win at the ATP Finals 2020. In a match that went till the last set, World No.7 managed to defeat Diego Schwartzman. Fans were suspecting a comeback after Diego bounced back strongly in the second set. However, Zverev did not repeat his mistakes and won the last set comfortably. The final scoreline of the match was 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.

Sascha looked much more relaxed this time in the post-match interview. Asked about his performance in the game, he was happy with the way he played.

“Yeah, it was much better than on Monday (against Daniil Medvedev). I mean Diego is a very difficult player and he deserves to be here. You know, there are no easy matches. But, I’m happy to give myself a chance to go to the semi-finals and I’m excited for Friday. Friday’s going to be the most difficult match against Novak. So yeah, I’m looking forward to it,” said a cheerful Zverev.

“Right now, it’s just a regular tournament for me. I need to win every match otherwise am out. So, I’m gonna go in with the mindset with which I went in today and I did my job. And, I hope I can do it again on Friday,” added the 23-year-old Sascha.

A defeat from here will surely knock Zverev out of the tournament. Although he has gained his momentum back, he has to be brilliant in his upcoming match against Novak Djokovic. Fans expect an amazing match between the two on Friday.
