Maria Isabel Nadal (Maribel), the Spanish tennis legend, Rafael Nadal‘s sister, recently shared her interest in a sport that has remained one of the favorites of her tennis legend brother, apart from tennis: golf. She recently posted a video of herself playing golf on her Instagram story, which sparked speculation that she may be considering a career in golf.
The 22-time Grand Slam champion is not only a tennis legend but a passionate fan of golf. In 2020, the Spanish tennis legend participated in the Balearic Golf Championship. He showcased his prowess on the fairways and greens. Even after winning at Roland Garros just two weeks earlier, Nadal swapped his tennis rackets for golf clubs. This comes three years after Maribel made headlines for her epic takedown of Nadal in a game of tennis. The video of their match went viral, with fans amazed at Maribel’s skills on the court. Now, it seems that she is ready to try her hand at a new sport.

It’s not clear if Nadal has given Maribel any golfing tips. However, given his love for the sport, it wouldn’t be surprising if he had. The Spaniard has often played a few gold tournaments during his time away from tennis. This comes three years after their epic tennis showdown at home. The quarantine home match was uploaded on YouTube and it went viral on social media. Nadal practiced with his sister during the pandemic to keep up with his fitness regimen.
While it’s too early to say whether Maribel will pursue golf professionally, it’s clear that she is enjoying the sport. She is eager to take on new challenges. As for Nadal, he will no doubt be supporting his sister every step of the way.
