Jimmy Connors, the former ATP no.1, has not stopped interacting with his fans since his retirement in 1996. Connors’ podcast- Advantage Connors airs episodes regularly wherein he sits down for insightful conversations with his son Brett Connors. By the looks of it, his fans are extremely receptive to this new venture of Connors and love listening to him. Keeping up the hype in his recent podcast, Connors talked about something other than tennis or politics.
He engaged in a conversation about golf, and the upcoming Augusta Masters in April. Connors’ son Brett asked his father about his opinions on the Masters event coming up soon. To that, Jimmy had a pretty detailed answer, indicating that he has indeed given a good amount of thought to it, and keeps himself updated with the game. He also mentioned the golf legend – Tiger Woods in his speculations.

When asked about how he thinks the event is gonna span out, Connors has some interesting speculations. He says, “It’s gonna be interesting. With a lot of these good young players.” Connors is of the opinion that with new players trying to start their legacy, it will be interesting to watch them try to take over the more seasoned players.
In this context he mentioned Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth but also indicated towards the younger icons who are “trying to break in and make their legacy, you know, by winning something like the Masters”.

Talking about Tiger Woods and whether he is going to break his long pause from the course, Connors says, “Well, one is Tiger gonna play? You know, I guess the other thing is, he hasn’t played since when? How many weeks? Has he taken off now? And is he gonna be able to, you know, handle the walk and the four days. There’s a lot of, you know, whirlwind surrounding him still.”
Soon after the podcast aired, the pre-tournament by Augusta National schedule featured a big update for Woods’ fans. According to the schedule, there is a press conference where Woods is going to address the audience at 11 a.m. ET Tuesday. Whether his participation is confirmed or not, still remains a question.
