Jannik Sinner has made a swift transition from the hard court to the clay courts. Beating Sebastian Korda, the Indian Wells runner-up and Miami Champion has qualified for the next round of the Monte Carlo Masters. But a humorous turn of events occurred when Formula Racing Car driver Carlos Sainz rescinded an invitation he had sent the tennis star.
Carlos Sainz is currently competing in the Formula One Japanese GP but decided to pay a visit to the Monte Carlo Country Club today. The amusing conversation started when Sainz discovered a condition related to Sinner’s availability. Upon hearing his terms, Sainz declared, “I hope you don’t come.”.
After the Monte Carlo Masters comes the French Open, starting in May, which means Jannik Sinner’s schedule is pretty packed. However, a busy calendar doesn’t get in the way of Sinner’s determination to play his best game. This was witnessed during his post-match conversation with Sainz, where he asked Sinner to come and feel the excitement of the race for himself. However, Sinner quickly added, “We’re trying. There’s Roland Garros now.” Sainz responded, “Maybe come even for one Sunday.”.

But Sainz learned there was an odd catch to Jannik Sinner’s availability when Sinner said, “If it goes badly, I’ll come.” When Sainz learned about this ironic situation, he couldn’t help but inject his own clever spin on it. Sainz responded with humor, jokingly canceling the invitation, “I hope you don’t come.” The encounter provided a dash of comedy after an intense tennis match.
Even though the exchange was lighthearted, it highlights that Jannik Sinner’s constant progress in the tennis world is unstoppable. Sinner is “happy” with his performance on-court
Interest in Jannik Sinner’s clay-court abilities was high, following his dominance on hard courts in 2024. The 22-year-old decisively answered by defeating Sebastian Korda 6-1, 6-2 to advance to the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters third round. After long baseline exchanges with Korda, Sinner outlasted him with quick feet and precise timing while striking the ball.
After 76 minutes of a pure display of his skills, he advanced by saving all three break points that he faced. By demonstrating remarkable first-serve technique, he won 95% (20/21) of the points with his opening stroke. “Every year it is tough to come here and perform well, but I am happy with the performance,” he said after his match.
