Sports carry a universal appeal, and the bond made through mutual respect and kind words between athletes of different sports is traditional. That is why when racing legend Lewis Hamilton shared a childhood picture of him wearing a tennis t-shirt, tennis World No. 1 Novak Djokovic responded with admiration.

Along with the Serbian ace, Serena Williams‘ coach Patrick Mouratoglou also expressed his view on the t-shirt. In actuality, Lewis Hamilton, the record-equaling seven-time World Drivers’ Championship winner, had other ideas for the picture.

The Mercedes driver shared his childhood photo because the same image is a part of the design on his upcoming t-shirts. However, the tennis stars spotted the drawing of a tennis racket on it and commented immediately.

“I love the t shirt you got on your photo as a boy. By the way, good that you chose car racing instead of tennis. Otherwise, we all would be in trouble,” Djokovic said.

Patrick also had a similar take on the adorable snap. However, he chose to appreciate Hamilton’s parents’ choice. He wrote, “Nice t shirt as a kid! Your parents have a good taste for sport.”

The Instagram post also shows Hamilton’s iconic transformation from a child to a racing legend. Now, fans of the racer will be eager to get their hands on the new line of t-shirts.

Meanwhile, in another part of the world, Djokovic is busy playing with his wife and son at the Monte-Carlo Masters.
