While there was drama, many in the fandom ended up loving it. Jake Paul was one such individual and found himself becoming a fan of Shelton. During a recent weigh-in before a boxing bout, Paul cleared it and hung up the phone to show his joy.

The problem child’s gesture was loved by Shelton as he shared the video on his Instagram story with the caption, “😭😭😭 @jakepaul”. Paul further went on to share the report on his Instagram story with the caption, “The Dial King”, which was reshared further by Shelton.

In the 2022 US Open, Nick Kyrgios managed to beat Daniil Medvedev, the then number 1 player. Watching his performance in the match, Paul was astonished at the skills shown by the Aussie bad boy. He congratulated him on the win and went on to hype him up on his ‘X’ page. He wrote, “Aussie Aussie Aussie. Kyrrrrrgiooooos. Tennis should embrace Kyrgios. Agassi 2.0.” 

He became the first controversial tennis figure Paul became a fan of. He then became a fan of Shelton, who is often in the controversial light himself. Jake Paul is someone who is in controversies frequently, which could explain why he is drawn to such figures in other disciplines.
