Keep getting better. You’re awesome for the game”- said Agassi.

Then there was Roger Federer, who has earned a fair share of applause for retaining his world’s number-one position in tennis for 310 weeks with a record of 237 weeks at a stretch. This 20 Grand Slam winner also congratulated Sinner sharing how he found this status as one of his life’s ultimate achievements.

Hey Jannik, many congratulations also from my side to become World No. 1. I think this is for me personally, maybe the ultimate achievement. And I’m sure you are incredibly happy and you should be so proud. I’m sure, also, Italy is loving you right now as they should being the first Italian player ever, to be World No. 1. It’s incredible. I couldn’t be happier for you. You’re a great person, great player, and I wish you only the best for the future, Jannik. Take care. I’ll see you soon. Bye”- said Federer.

Sinner’s recent achievement marks a great deal for his country as he is the first Italian to achieve this ATP ranking. However, with his rise to number one, Serbian Djokovic loses his old position. In fact, after Carlos Alcaraz Garfia won the Roland Garros tour this year, Djokovic shifted to the ATP ranking 3. Sinner entered the ATP’s ranking system in 2018 when he was just 16. Less than two years after that, Sinner reached the top 100. Now he presented himself as the first Italian to bag the ATP world ranking one.

On the other hand, intrigued fans noticed how almost all the world’s former number-one ATP stars featured in the video congratulated Sinner except for the Serb. From Boris Becker to Andy Murray, Daniil Medvedev, Andy Roddick, Gustavo Kuerten, and Lleyton Hewitt, all joined Agassi and Federer to wish Sinner but Novak, who was the last ATP no 1 before Sinner took his position.
