Atlético Madrid are determined to hi-jack Carlos Tevez’s proposed move back to his home club Boca Juniors and bring him to the Vincente Calderon.

Atlético Madrid have emerged as a shock club to knock the doors at Juventus to attempt the purchase of Argentine striker Carlos Tevez, who was set to leave Juventus and join his boyhood club Boca Juniors. But the late movement from the Spanish club might change Tevez’s mind.

Spanish newspaper AS claims that Diego Simeone personally called Carlos Tevez and convinced him to play at Vincente Calderon for the upcoming season and if he does, he will be partnering Mario Mandžukić and Antoine Griezmann as a striker.

The talks have started off positively and the Madrid club is confident of completing the signing this week. These rumours have been welcomed in the Spanish capital and the fans are awaiting further positive developments.

The 31-year old Argentine has still 2-3 years of professional football at the top level remaining in him. Tevez has had a fantastic season with Juventus winning the domestic double and knocking 20 goals this season.
