Last Monday, New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art was the place to be for various celebrities. After 18 months, the Met Gala returned in full swing, with several stars gracing the red carpet in stunning attires. Among them was American gymnast Simone Biles, who dazzled the cameras in a diamond-studded black and white dress.
During a recent appearance, Biles revealed the importance of the six men who carried her dress at the event.

Biles made a staggering impression in her Met Gala debut on September 13. The 24-year-old wore a black and white ensemble, with her gown studded with Swarovski crystals. Overall, the dress weighed a whopping 88 pounds, and Biles needed six men to carry her dress simply due to its weight.
Appearing on ‘Good Morning America’, Biles believed without those six men, she probably wouldn’t have made it to the Met Gala. She said, “I had six men helping me, so without their help I probably wouldn’t have made it very far or into the Met at all.”
The decorated gymnast went on to mention how the list of celebrities at the event surprised her. “This year we had so many athletes that got to attend and so I feel like that was really nice to be able to be recognized,” said Biles.
“But a lot of the people that I didn’t think they would know who I was knew — it just shocks me because it’s two different worlds like athlete, actors, actresses, celebrities, it’s just so different.”

Biles made a stunning impact on her Olympic debut in Rio five years ago, winning four gold medals. However, she struggled to emulate that performance in Tokyo due to mental health issues.
With the Olympics in the past, the American will embark on a tour spanning 35 cities. Titled ‘Gold Over America’, Biles will grace the stage in a gymnastics show with some of the top gymnasts and dancers. The tour begins tomorrow and will culminate on November 6, over six weeks later.
