Since her comeback after the ban from mega-event, Sha’Carri Richardson has not yet produced the results that her potential promises. Surprisingly, in her first race just after the ban, she finished at the ninth position out of the runners.

Jamaican sprinting trio Shelly-Ann, Elaine Thompson, and Shericka Jackson outperformed her at the Diamonds League meet. After the Diamond League season, Richardson competed at the Internazionale Citta’ de Padova meeting in Italy.

Fellow American Javianne Oliver defeats Sha’Carri Richardson

Sha’Carri competed in the 100m race at the Internazionale Citta’ de Padova on Sunday. Although the Jamaican stars, Elaine, Shelly-Ann, and Shericka, were not part of the race. Five out of the eight runners were American sprinters, including Sha’Carri. Richardson’s training partner USA’s Javianne Oliver won the race clocking a time of 11.19.

Javianne Oliver recently represented Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Oliver clinched the silver medal in the women’s 4*100m race in Tokyo.

Although Richardson finished at the second position behind Oliver, she was not very far behind. She finished at the same 11.19 seconds but missed Oliver by a whisker. The wind was not favorable for athletes being at -0.1m/s.

USA’s Candace Hill finished at the third position clocking the time of 11.26 seconds. Apart from the Americans, Bahamas’s Anthonique Strachan, Jamaica’s Briana Williams, and Italy’s Irene Siragusa were also a part of the race.

USA’s Michael Norman creates new meeting record

In the men’s event at Internazionale Citta’ de Padova in Italy, USA’s Michael Norman created a record in the 100m race. Norman had clinched the gold medal in the 4*400m relay race at Tokyo Olympics 2020.

In Italy, Michael clocked a spectacular time of 9.97 seconds breaking in the under 10 subs again. Notably, he defeated the Olympic legend Justin Gatlin, who is soon going to retire after his last race on the 14th of September 2021. Norman also defeated the likes of Ronnie Baker and Marvin Bracy.

The Diamond League 2021 season is officially over, and only a very few races are left. The year has been a rollercoaster ride for 21-year-old Sha’Carri, and she will hopefully stun the world in the next season.
