Olympian Ryan Crouser clinched the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Ryan competes in the shot put event and has represented Team USA at two mega-quadrennial games. The 28-year-old entered Tokyo to defend his 2016 title in the shot put event, which he managed successfully.
The reigning Olympic champion also holds the world record in the shot put event. Ryan’s world record is 23.37 m i.e. 76 ft 8 in which he established in 2021.
Ryan is hoping to win his first Diamond League Trophy

Interestingly, the Olympic champion and world record holder has never clinched the Diamond League Trophy. Ryan is aiming to win the trophy and become the most decorated shot putter in the world. At the press conference of Diamond League, Ryan talked about his performance in 2021 and his goals moving forward.
“It’s been a great year for me. I have done up to this point everything I could have possibly hoped to accomplish and still looking at the elusive Diamond League final victory. I think I can almost guarantee that I’m probably the only two-time Olympic gold medalist and world record holder that doesn’t have a Diamond League trophy,” Ryan Crouser said.

Ryan Crouser will compete in the Wanda Diamond League in Zurich

The Olympic gold medalist has his eyes set on the Diamond League trophy. Ryan will compete in the shot put finals in Zurich in the two days full of action for track and field fans. Notably, Tokyo Olympics shot put silver medalist USA’s Joe Kovacs and New Zealand?s Tom Walsh will also compete, making the match-up incredibly intense.
Tom Walsh has been giving tough competition to Ryan, however, the Olympic champion has been unbeatable this year. At the Diamond League meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland, Tom tried to break Ryan’s record but failed.
Tom threw his best throw at 22.10m, while Ryan established the best throw in the meet at 22.81m. Earlier, Ryan Crouser had also established the Diamond League record to 23.15m at the meet in Eugene.?Ryan is just one win away from becoming the world’s best shot-up athlete. Notably, with his formidable form this year, his chances of winning look very realistic.
