Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla is one of the most anticipated games of the year. Fans of the open-world action RPG franchise have been waiting for this title since it was announced back in April. Every title in the series focuses on a particular age in history, starting from ancient Egypt in Assassin’s Creed Origins. The upcoming installment takes place during the Scandinavian invasion. This was the age when Vikings came to England in search of pastoral lands for settlement.

Recently, Ubisoft started a podcast called “Echoes of Valhalla” on Spotify that explains the Viking history ingrained in the game. The description of the podcast on the Ubisoft website says,

“At the time of the launch of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, ‘Echoes of Valhalla’ offers the first immersive historical documentary series in audio. Comedians, well-known experts and reconstructed scenes will bring to life the glorious eras of the people of the North, relating the story of the Vikings as you have never heard before.”

The podcast has five episodes in total:

  • THE SONS OF THE GREAT NORTH
  • DRAGON OF THE SEAS
  • THOR’S HAMMER
  • BIRTH OF AN EMPIRE
  • THE DAWN OF A NEW ERA

Echoes of Valhalla takes listeners to a mystic journey through the Northern lands. The podcast explores the beliefs and lives of the Northmen. Each episode has a runtime of around 15 minutes and involves dramatic narrations by actors as well as scholars of Viking lore.

The official press release states, “Echoes of Valhalla invites listeners to relieve the epic adventures of Scandinavian warriors invading England, with a unique audio podcast experience that has the feel of a documentary series.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla will release on November 10, right around the time when the Xbox Series X and the PS5 will hit the stores.
