The World Gymnastics Championship is no doubt the biggest event for the athletes in the field. With the event starting over the weekend, the qualified artists have been making their way to present themselves for the contest. While the process might have been a smooth one for many, it was especially unkind to 16-year-old Kaylia Nemour. The French-Algerian gymnast initially faced a strenuous situation concerning her decision to change her nationality. Kaylia who had steadily established herself at the French gymnastics was faced with a challenge after sustaining a grievous injury.
The incident cost Kaylia her spot on the French team. Maneuvering through the obstacle, the gymnast thought it best to make a change in her nationality to head to the 2023 Worlds. The decision followed several complications involving the French Federation.
