Apex Legends boasts a diverse character roster, with each legend having unique ability kits. The quick-witted modder, Rampart, arrived with Season 6, contributing further to the innovative play styles in the battle royale. She is a defensive Legend, with abilities that allow her to help fortify an area using multiple armored protective barriers or create diversions to keep her squad safe.

Rampart’s tactical ability allows her to amplify the outgoing damage on enemies behind the Amped Cover’s safety. She can deploy the “Shiela” minigun by activating her ultimate for herself and her teammates to use. Meanwhile, her Modded Loader passive makes LMGs and the Minigun even deadlier. However, like most new legends, the expert modder had a tough start to life in the Apex Games.

Rampart currently has one of the lowest pick rates in the game. This is because several other legends like Wraith and Pathfinder, who have been in the game for a long time, have abilities that better support the aggressive playstyle, making them very popular picks. Perhaps Rampart’s abilities are lackluster, even compared to other defensive legends like Gibraltar or Caustic.

However, a few Rampart mains have unlocked the potential of playing her aggressively. The Gaming Merchant is one of them, and he intends to inspire more Apex players to become Rampart mains.

Tips to bring out Rampart’s offensive potential in Apex Legends
Being a Rampart main, The Gaming Merchant devised a clever strategy that made the expert modder’s ultimate ability more useful. This strategy involves wiggling Sheila by spamming left and right while the turret animation plays through. The turret soaks up some incoming bullets, and it also facilitates dodging the bullets, whilst one waits for the turret to charge up.
This simple trick allows the player to not be a sitting duck during the process of setting up the minigun. The Gaming Merchant showcased two more interesting strategies for Rampart that he recently uncovered.

The first one makes things difficult for Caustic players. By tactically laying down two Amped Covers in a diagonal manner, players can block Caustic’s gas from damaging them. Essentially, the idea is to create a tunnel through the gas and peak in and out while crouching to shoot the Caustic player on the other side of the gas. A Digital Threat sight comes recommended.

Furthermore, players can also deter Caustic’s ultimate when it is thrown right at them. Just make a small triangle using Rampart’s armored protective covers, thus remaining safe inside the secure bubble of protection.

The next strategy is useful in situations when opponents run behind a door and start healing after taking damage. As Rampart, all one needs to do is put a grenade down on the floor and then place the Amped Cover on top, so it covers up the grenade. Subsequently, the door will explode without the player receiving damage, allowing them to shoot opponents right in the face.
