In the build-up to Apex Legends Season 5, the official launch trailer for the upcoming season premiered yesterday. Respawn premiered the launch trailer at 10 AM PST, and countless Apex Legends fans rushed to catch a glimpse of it.

Respawn had been building the hype for Apex’s newest legend, Loba, for quite some time. Numerous in-game teasers were spotted by players, followed by a brief reveal trailer last week and then the official launch trailer yesterday. After the launch trailer went live, almost 200k viewers watched it live on YouTube. Soon after, it gathered 3 million views on Youtube.

As of now, almost 24 hours after the trailer dropped, it has surpassed 5 million views on YouTube, nearly 420k views on Facebook, and 1.2 million on Twitter. Moreover, the trailer has 268k likes compared to the 5.3k dislikes on YouTube, almost 48k likes, and 16.7k retweets on Twitter. Additionally, on Facebook, the video has over 16k likes (reacts) and 8k shares. It highlights the massive popularity of Apex Legends within its fanbase and beyond.

After Respawn released the official trailer for the new season, fans instantly took a liking for it. While some lauded the devs for fittingly hyping up Loba, some couldn’t wait to jump into combat with her.

Meanwhile, a Reddit user u/Curvypotatoes created a thread named “ThIs GaMe Is DeAd” on the subreddit r/apexlegends. Recognizable from the font used for the thread’s caption, it is aimed at people who suggested the game is dead, yet the launch trailer topped the Trending section of YouTube.
