Apex Legends, developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts, revolutionized the perception of battle royale games after its launch in February last year. But like most games, many bugs and other issues have plagued Apex. While some of the bug exploits are minor, some are major.

The ”shooting-while-downed” bug is one of those glitches which has had significant implications in gun-battles. Although the bug rarely occurred, when it did appear, it gave players another unfair chance at survival as they were not only able to use their weapons but also shoot at enemies even when downed in a firefight. A lot of players have been the victim of this bug in ranked lobbies.

Utilizing Revenant’s tactical ability just as the character’s health descended below zero, seemingly caused the unique glitch, thereby allowing the downed player to fire his weapon at the opponents even after downed in a firefight.

Earlier this month, few players showcased their POV of the glitch to report it to the devs. Later, the devs responded to the calls of fixing the bug by confirming that they were aware of it and working for a fix.

Now, Respawn has revealed a patch meant to abolish the bug exploit for good.

Fans favorably welcomed the new update even though the wait for a fix was quite lengthy. This update will bring massive relief to those who were the unfortunate victims of this notorious bug. Ranked queues are going to reset when the new season for Apex Legends arrives on May 12. Therefore, Respawn is deserving of some credit for their timely decision to squash out the frustrating glitch.

Meanwhile, another troublesome bug related to another legend is prevalent in the game. This problematic bug revives a downed opponent who killed a Mirage decoy. Although the devs previously announced fixes for some of Mirage’s bugs, it seems the bug still occurs.
Considering the rework Mirage is set to undergo in the upcoming season, it is likely the developers will soon release an update to patch this bug too.
