While it’s still early days in Apex Legends Season 7, fans have quickly come to grips with the novelties of the battle royale’s most promising season yet. Players have been relishing the exhilarating gameplay on the lush and artificial terrain of Apex’s third map, Olympus.

The new map is entirely distinct from the previous two; however, some keen-eyed fans have spotted something recognizable from Kings Canyon and World’s Edge. In past seasons, Respawn used these small monitors in-game to tease specific map changes that would eventually occur.

Specifically, in season five, the devs used the small screens to tease the hatches and underground vaults unlocking on Kings Canyon. Meanwhile, in season six, they incorporated the same screens into teasers across World’s Edge for the gravity lifts, whose mechanic eventually became Horizon’s tactical ability.

Although the seventh season is only in its second week, these small monitors have popped up in Olympus. YouTuber Sethly showed the in-game teasers in a recent video, which signifies potential changes and updates.

While exploring the lavishly designed locations on Olympus, players have found new update teasers

The YouTuber listed out the locations of the two teaser screens he came across on Apex’s new map. He found the first one at the Carrier. It’s located near the main control panel at the front of the massive vessel. Meanwhile, he was able to find another one near the Rift in the middle of the map.

While the first screen is pointing directly at a big advertisement monitor, the second one is facing towards the Rift. Currently, the teaser screens display the message “Inactive”. This indicates that it will become active at some point during season seven, as they have in the past.

Since one of the teasers is pointing directly at a big monitor, some have speculated that it could play a video on the monitor when the teaser activates later in the season. The other could activate an entirely different teaser or event because it doesn’t have a screen near it.

Meanwhile, fans raised some interesting questions in the Reddit AMA session hosted by Respawn developers. One fan was eager to know why the current Olympus appeared dissimilar to the one shown in the trailers and in-game loading screen during previous seasons.

Manny Hagopian, lead writer for Apex Legends, obliged with a statement from Ashley Breed, who is a senior writer. The developer’s response could have something to do with the teasers found throughout Olympus.

Olympus can actually shift and transform thanks to its advanced computer systems, so some structures might not be there that were before.

Based on that statement, the teaser screens could activate during this season, eventually transforming Olympus and causing a significant map update. Perhaps it’s too early at this moment to be certain since nothing is confirmed yet. For now, players have to wait and watch the map changes that await them as the season progresses.
