The diverse roster of characters, each with unique ability kits, makes Apex Legends stand out from other battle royale games. To keep things interesting, Respawn is constantly looking to improve different legends, which generates more innovative play styles.

The game meta changes from season to season to give every character their share of the spotlight. Rampart, who is currently the least picked legend, may end up becoming a decent legend in the future, much like how Gibraltar, Revenant, Caustic, Bloodhound, Crypto, and others have all had their moment in the spotlight.

Respawn is always listening to community feedback and ideas about buffs and nerfs. The most recent example is the rework for Pathfinder’s grapple cooldown, which a player suggested on Reddit. If the devs end up liking the idea and get enough feedback, it may get incorporated into the game down the line, even though not in the exact form.

Apex Legends buff and nerf concepts for Bangalore, Lifeline, and Octane

First up is a buff to Bangalore’s Rolling Thunder ultimate. Right now, the ultimate ability involves Bangalore calling in an artillery strike, and several rows of missiles land sequentially in front of the flare. The missiles stick for 8 seconds before creating a wave of explosions.

The Gaming Merchant suggested a different approach. The missiles stay on the ground longer and explode based on proximity, turning it into a powerful repositioning tool. If an enemy runs through the rocket field, it will all explode on them. At the same time, Bangalore and her teammates can walk freely through it. Apart from the repositioning capabilities Bangalore gains, the change will enhance her team play potential further.

Next up is a nerf for Lifeline’s passive, which many players feel definitely needs a tone down. She can deploy D.O.C, which sets up a shield and revives her downed teammate, leaving her free to defend or revive another teammate. Lifeline’s passive ability feels a bit too strong without a cooldown, as the player can keep spamming revives. Therefore, imposing a 5-second cooldown as soon as she finishes or cancels a revive seems a suitable change.

Meanwhile, this Octane buff concept seems exciting if done right. The nature of Octane’s ability kit makes him look like a selfish solo legend. The suggested buff for his tactical involves throwing down a pack of adrenaline Stims, which the entire team can use. However, this change could remove Octane’s solo positioning and escape power, changing his core identity.

Perhaps, infusing the Stim packs into his Launch Pad ultimate is a viable alternative. Teammates would have to jump on the launchpad to get Octane’s enhanced movement for a short time.

Changes for Loba, Rampart, and Revenant

Although the community has talked a lot about a buff to Loba’s ultimate, the devs’ perception differs. The Gaming Merchant pointed out an improvement that would allow Loba to collect teammates’ banners from a distance by accessing her Black Market Boutique’s menu. This change would give Loba more power to help her team and she is already a support legend.

However, it could also push her towards having healing abilities, away from her core identity, which centers on loot. But then again, Lifeline, a medic, has extra loot abilities, and Crypto can now pick up teammates’ banners using his drone and even interact with beacons.

The next suggestion is about replacing Rampart’s Modded Loader passive with a new one. When Rampart picks up a weapon, it would have the Hop-Up equipped by default, provided the gun has a slot for the attachment. The weapon would hold on to the attachment, meaning players can’t give their Hop-Up to others. This new passive would allow Rampart to utilize more functionality out of a whole range of weapons in the game instead of just LMGs.

Finally, we have a nerf concept for Revenant’s ultimate to wrap things up. It is essentially a Quality of Life change that would notify players when Revenant uses his Death Totem. In the current situation, Revenant and his squad can transform into shadows and strike with sheer suddenness, causing a third-party nightmare.

Therefore, it makes sense players receive an on-screen message alerting them that a shadow squad has emerged within a distance when Revenant activates his ultimate. This would make players aware of the incoming push, especially when looting and healing after wiping a squad.
