Apex Legends event trailer reveals potential Lifeline buff

In the trailer video, at the minute mark, Lifeline is seen rushing into combat to provide support to a downed Bangalore. She deploys her D.O.C, which puts up a shield wall. Then, instead of picking up Bangalore herself, her healing drone does it. Bangalore utilizes a cord dropped by the D.O.C and gets revived. Meanwhile, Lifeline continues to engage in a gunfight with Gibraltar, the enemy who downed her teammate.

Currently, Lifeline’s passive ability generates a shield wall that protects fallen teammates and herself, while she revives them. Although the ability is useful, one could say it is quite static, not having the same dynamism Apex’s gameplay is known for. From the video, it seems Lifeline can deploy her D.O.C to take care of downed teammates, while she stays in the fight and suppresses opponents.

However, nothing remains concrete yet, as there is no official word from the developer. Lifeline fans have been asking for a buff for quite some time. In the Season 5 update, she received some enhancements that allow her to find extra loot inside blue supply bins. But, it isn’t anything groundbreaking.

Earlier, a developer at Respawn had mentioned that Lifeline could receive a sidegrade instead of a massive buff. Despite complaints of the support legend not being as effective or powerful anymore, Lifeline still belongs in the top 3 most picked legends in Season 5. It highlights her crucial role in most squads.

If Lifeline receives the tweak shown in the video, it could potentially boost her pick rates further. Moreover, it will make her stand out among all the other legends since nobody can revive teammates while actively staying in the fight. We will only get to know for sure after the Lost Treasures Collection update goes live on June 23.
