With the Aftermarket Collection Event just around the corner, Apex Legends Season 6 is about to become more exciting. As anticipated by the Apex community, cross-play is coming to the battle royale, along with the Aftermarket event on October 6.

The update will also include an all-new Flashpoint LTM, a range of event-limited cosmetics, and other free rewards for playing. Players had long requested cross-play ever since the game’s launch. Starting October 6, they will have access to the much-awaited featured in beta release.

Players will get to test the cross-play functionality at scale, while Respawn inspects the data and listens to the feedback from fans. Meanwhile, with a big update around the corner, Jason McCord, Design Director for Apex Legends, responded to suggestions from fans on Twitter. Moreover, Apex Legends content creator, Sethly, featured some interesting suggestions in his YouTube video.

Respawn dev responds to interesting suggestions from Apex Legends players

A Twitter user recently asked the Respawn dev if they had plans for adding an in-game damage meter that allowed players to know their numbers for damage inflicted in real-time. Such a feature would give players an accurate idea about the amount of damage required to get a specific badge.

The reply from the dev indicates an in-game damage meter is on a list of features they could add with future updates.

Another user inquired if Apex’s cross-play functionality will ever move to an input-based system instead of the current platform-based system. Jason McCord said, “Won’t do input based because you can switch from the controller to M&KB at any time.

The reply is self-explanatory. An input-based system would facilitate players to queue up with a controller plugged in. Once in the match, they can switch their input to mouse and keyboard. Moreover, Respawn has made it clear that it wanted to ensure that console lobbies don’t have KBM players in them.

Meanwhile, a fan said they think console players should have the option to be paired with PC players while solo queuing. Jason replied saying, “Hearing that a lot today! Listening.

Respawn is listening to feedback. Maybe if enough players suggest the feature, they will implement it into cross-play down the line.

Another player asked if the onset of cross-play in Apex could lead to an increase in the lobby size. The Respawn dev responded, “Probably not any time soon.” He added that the game is balanced and optimized for 60 players. The maps are also designed for 60 player lobbies. For now, an increase in lobby size seems unlikely.
