Once players move on from all the server issues and the bugs, Season 9 of Apex Legends seems wonderful. The legend balance accompanied by a permanent game mode has not only brought back old players to the game but also attracted new ones. Naturally, if Apex could pull off something like this after people started calling it a ‘dead game’, so can other games.
One game that is still extremely promising and could use a push is Rainbow Six Siege. R6S sill has a flourishing competitive background; however, the game is bleeding casual players. Therefore, after 6 years of release, if Ubisoft still wants to make Siege popular, it can take a page off the Apex book.

Season 9 introduced the all-new Arenas to Apex Legends. The multiplayer 3v3 mode is slowly en route to reviving Apex, as the game is no longer limited to its Battle Royale gameplay. With the new model, players who don’t fancy BR games as much can also enjoy the game.
The Arena mode brings together all the amazing elements of Apex in a short, dynamic, and fast-paced game mode. Clearly, Respawn wanted to introduce something new to the game without leaving out the core elements of the game. This is the biggest reason why players who had previously quit Apex Legends have slowly started returning to the game.
Respawn identified that it is the gunfights, the legends, and the movement in its game that makes it so popular among players. Therefore, the developers took it all and put it into a new mode, eliminating the need for looting for a majority part of the game and maybe dying to a random squad or someone from behind.
Rainbow Six Siege could also use a new permanent game mode like Apex

If all it took Apex Legends to revive the game was a new permanent mode, Siege could also try something similar. Every Rainbow Six Siege player knows that the game gets severely intense during the last minute. On the other hand, it’s not as fun for the attackers in the initial minute as they try to breach.
Ubisoft could similarly try to identify certain aspects of R6S that attract or push players. Following this, they can curate a fresh and permanent game mode. Siege has seen various events and temporary game modes, some of which fans ended up falling in love with. However, none of them stayed for long enough to make sure players stick to playing the game.

Apex Legends is still a relatively newer game as compared to Rainbow Six Siege. Therefore, replicating something similar to Season 9 of Apex might be difficult for Ubisoft. However, they owe it to the fans to try to bring something new to the game.
