Ever popular Nintendo game, Animal Crossing New Horizons will celebrate its one-year anniversary on March 20. The game has garnered critical and commercial success following its launch, and has fortified itself as one of the best games on Switch right now.

The content for the game continues to grow with crossovers and updates. But, outside of the Switch, it really has had no great memorabilia or merchandise to go with it. But it’s all about to change because the characters will finally have their own line of plushies.

Build-A-Bear to release an Animal Crossing New Horizons collection

Build-A-Bear, the iconic stuffed animal collection retailer, has announced that it will release an Animal Crossing New Horizons-themed collection soon. The company revealed details about it on its Twitter handle but revealed no news about what characters will be part of the series.

So, players still don’t know if fan favorites such as Raymond, Marshall, Coco, or even Tom Nook will be part of it. There is also no information about the collection’s release date.

But fans can get more information about it as quickly as possible by signing up for their email or text updates on their website. The retailer had teased the idea of a collection for the game last year, a few months after it had launched.

Players have always wanted their favorite characters from the series as their own stuffed toys, and the interest showed up when fans organized a petition for the developers to collaborate with Build-A-Bear following the retailer’s tease.

Build-A-Bear and Video Games

Build-A-Bear is the world’s premier stuffed toy retailer. It has been part of the industry for over 30 years creating plushies, teddy bears, and many more stuffed items. It has collaborated with hundreds of companies, including video game developers, to bring its characters to life. These include Sonic The Hedgehog from Sega and also Pokemon characters from the iconic Nintendo franchise.

Recently, the company had to shut down almost 90% of its retail locations after being severely affected by the pandemic. So there’s a major possibility that most of the toys of the collection will be sold through e-commerce means. They have only announced details for the US and UK markets, but more details about other countries will follow suit.
