It didn’t take long for Animal Crossing: New Horizons to become the best-selling Switch title of all time. With the number of players increasing each day, there is no limit to what the game can achieve.
Animal Crossing has witnessed a lot of changes and updates since its inception. But the update that attracted the most attention was the campaign yard signs for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
The ongoing pandemic has rendered political rallies pretty useless. These rallies had to be shifted to online platforms where live streams and fundraisers were held. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is one such platform that is being used for campaigning through yard signs.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons – The community has mixed opinions
This game has yet again proved that it isn’t an ordinary game. The permeating reach of Animal Crossing has made election campaigns possible. However, as innovative as these sound, the community has mixed perspectives. But this isn’t how Christian Tom, director of digital partnerships for the Biden campaign felt.
He said,” Animal Crossing is a dynamic, diverse, and powerful platform that brings communities together from across the world. It is an exciting new opportunity for our campaign to engage and connect Biden-Harris supporters as they build and decorate their islands. As we enter the final campaign stretch towards November, this is one way we are finding new creative and innovative ways to meet voters where they are and bring our supporters together.” However, this wasn’t enough to stop the frenzy that erupted on Twitter.
bruh can we stop with companies and political campaigns using this game as an advertising platform. The game was made to escape the real world, not to be a platform for companies to be rElAtAbLe

Seems appropriate that this game about constant tedious and mindless work in service of climbing out of immense financial debt is now also about electoral politics https://t.co/InBhVt81vM

Meh, it's harmless in my book. Just as long the campaign stays focus on their message and produces more speeches and LISTEN to their supporters.
I'm to the point as an independent that I'm not gonna overly focus on negativity. I gonna focus on the pros and cons

Animal Crossing: New Horizons became a phenomenon within a few small months of its release. In light of this, it wasn’t too surprising to see such campaigns make their way to the game, given that they’ve also been visible in Fortnite. Time will tell whether more of these make their way to other popular games.
