Nintendo will stop updating Animal Crossing: New Horizons after the 2.0 update

Recently, Nintendo announced it will no longer support New Horizons with either free or paid updates. During the Direct, developers mentioned ACNH will not receive any major updates in the future. This made several players wonder if they will see more paid updates like Happy Home Paradise.

However, Nintendo confirmed it will only support the game with minor changes. Thus, it confirms that players will not see any major update or new paid DLC once the November update is released. Nintendo spokesperson told IGN,” This is the last major free update and the paid DLC will be the only paid DLC for this title.”

This means we won’t see any major updates for ACNH; moreover, there will be no expansions either or significant updates for Happy Home Paradise. This made many players angry as developers quit New Horizons too early. According to some rumors, on the ACNH launch, Nintendo confirmed it will support the game for three years. Regardless, it gave up on the game after only one year of its release.

Sadly, these were only some rumors and developers never commented on anything regarding how long they are planning to support the game. On the flip side, some users are happy that they will still receive some small updates in the future. Therefore, we might see new seasonal events or refreshed events such as Easter and Halloween.

Although developers will not support ACNH, it doesn’t mean it’s the end. Furthermore, users can also play the expansion pack, Happy Home Paradise, for $24.99 to keep continuing the game.
