Animal Crossing New Horizons kept a lot of people entertained during the global lockdown of 2020. Nintendo’s life simulation game released on March 20, 2020, being the fifth game in the Animal Crossing franchise. Players have to control a character on a deserted island, building houses and communicating with their neighbors. In fact, building houses is one of the key things to do in the game. Naturally, it is important to make sure that players do so perfectly.
Laying the housing kit is the first thing that players have to do when building a house in New Horizons. However, while this may sound quite simple, it requires some amount of time and patience. You must try out different spots in the area to see which one suits you best. Therefore, it is important to know how to lay the housing kit perfectly in New Horizons.

How to lay the housing kit in Animal Crossing New Horizons
The housing kit lays out a 4 by 4 grid in the space you select. This is the space in which you will build your house. The grid contains a 4 by 3 region which is grey, and the remaining portion of the grid is clear. The grey portion indicates the actual area of the house. The clear portion, on the other hand, shows the area designated for stairs that extend out of the house and space for other decorations such as lights.

The thing to note here is that most people confuse the placement of this grid on the map. When imagining the layout of the house, it seems like the house is farther behind than players intended for it to be. Therefore, they might bring up the layout closer than before. However, by doing so, they do not leave any space for the stairs and other additions that extend in front of the house. It is important to note that you keep these additions in mind while placing the housing kit in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
