Animal Crossing: New Horizons: Things You Didn’t Know

Lost and Found

You might have noticed lost items on your island while exploring it. You might come across a variety of items but books, notebooks, and bags are what you usually find.

Returning the lost object to its owner is not only the wise thing to do but can also prove to be fruitful. The villager in question may just reward you with a different, more useful, item.

However, you can hold on to the lost item, without any repercussions as well.  All you need to do is, keep the item with you for a day. After 24 hours, the side quest disappears and the lost item becomes yours. You can do whatever you want with it.

Search for keywords

Custom designing is an integral part of the game and helps you stand out. It helps you curate a style of your choice. You can customize clothing and furniture in your home to make it distinct from that of your friends. As you can imagine, it has become increasingly popular among players.

Alas, it can be a tedious task. Custom designs come with specific codes that are necessary in order to use them. While there aren’t too many options to choose from, it can be quite a task to zero in on the code of a design that you do like.

Thankfully, this has undergone a change and the next time you visit the kiosk in Able Sisters shop, you can actually search for a keyword representing the kind of design you want. This will give you a list of designs matching your keyword.

Know who visited your island

Animal Crossing makes it possible for you to visit other islands when you are asleep. You can roam around and catch a glimpse of what it looks like. But do you know how to find out who all has visited your island in their dreams?

All you need to do is visit the Nintendo Switch Online application on your smartphone. You will see a few options here. Click on ‘Dreams’ and you can see who visited your island and when it was last updated. This is a pretty interesting feature.

 How to clean up

There is just enough space for you to store things in your house. However, you might come across items that you want, or need, just not immediately. In this case, rather than leaving them around, you can save them for later.

You can place these items in a recycling box until you need them. All you need to do is place them on a table. After you are done placing them you have to request a cleanup. Visit the ‘Island Designer’ function to enable this feature. All the items will be transported to the recycling box temporarily. They will be available for your use whenever you require them.
