Animal Crossing New Horizons recently received an update for the month of August. The developers have added in a lot of new content for the month with some of the new events arriving soon. This includes the Fireworks show, Obon and many more. In the coming days, players will gain access to the new items as part of these events including Cucumber Horses, Popsicles and more.

Recently, a lot of datamined information revealed some major changes set to arrive for the villagers in the game. The previous games of the franchise have included these NPCs with a lot of unique approaches. But, that hasn’t been the case with New Horizons, and it seems like the developers will be changing that soon.

New luck based villager responses in Animal Crossing New Horizons

Dataminers recently revealed that Animal Crossing New Horizons has an unused type of approach that villagers can use called ApproachFortune. This links to two unused event flows titled NNPC_ApproachH_FortuneFriendship and NNPC_ApproachH_FortuneItem. Many believe that villagers will now have something to do with luck. Previous games of this series had involved Katrina, and this feature allowed players to see how their day will go in the game.

This feature showcased some outcomes that might stem from their luck. So if they received bad luck, then they can have a day where they will trip a lot, or they might not find a lot of money. Right now, players can view this by visiting Katrina in her tent where she reads their fortunes. It remains to be seen if the Fortune item might be the Fortune Cookies which is currently available in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.

Villagers visiting a player’s house

An old datamined file revealed the possibility of the return of the feature of villagers visiting the player’s house. The feature was almost complete as the game’s modders even recreated it by compiling these datamined files together. This intrigued the community, and many of them were excited about seeing its return. However, the developers removed it during the Festivale update earlier this year.

It remains to be seen if the developers at Nintendo will ever officially add this feature to the game. Many players have already seen it with the help of datamined files. But the situation isn’t a guarantee that the developers will definitely release it for Animal Crossing New Horizons. However, the community is hopeful about it, and they want to see their favorite villagers come by their house.
