Animal Crossing fans have a lot to be excited about this month, thanks to the game’s upcoming Direct event. For the past 9 months, fans waited patiently for a major update that can spark the excitement in the community. However, that never arrived until last month, when the developers revealed a short teaser during September’s Nintendo Direct.
The short clip teased the arrival of a massive character in Brewster and his cafe in The Roost. However, other than that, fans don’t know much about the other features that will release with it. They have instilled a lot of hope on the developers to reveal a stellar update, and it looks like they might receive an upgrade for a legendary Animal Crossing location.

Animal Crossing New Horizons might add an upgrade for Nook’s Cranny
Nook’s Cranny is one of the most popular places to visit currently in Animal Crossing New Horizons. The store had been run by franchise mainstay Tom Nook in the previous titles of the series. However, in New Horizons, the reins shifted to Timmy and Tommy, who now look after the shop. With a larger inventory this time around, players can buy and pawn items like furniture, tools, and many more in this store.
Ever since it arrived, players have asked for a massive upgrade for Nook’s Cranny. Currently, they can only upgrade it once even though the older titles of the series had more characters and upgrades to choose from. However, according to popular dataminer Ninji, that might change soon. Last year, the prominent leaker had noticed a third Nook’s Cranny in the files with no details about the features or the requirements. Plus, the current version has a lot of space that’s unused, which suggests that players might only see a stacked inventory in the final version which will potentially arrive soon.
1.0.0 has a file for a “Seafood” Critterpedia page that’s supposed to contain 33 items; the only one actually in the released game is the manila clam.

Return of Leif and no Able Sisters upgrade
Animal Crossing New Horizons has introduced a lot of new updates and changes to the museums. But the Nook’s Cranny has only seen one upgrade since it released for the game. With a new upgrade for the store, players might receive a variety of items, and also an introduction to Leif as well with his old role from New Leaf. Unfortunately for fans of the Able Sisters, players might have to wait a bit more for the update as currently there’s no datamined information about an upgrade for their store.
